What's in It for You

Important role
Nowhere is cybersecurity more important than at the Department of Defense. You will train DoD staff to leverage our tools in diverse areas to promote national security and protect freedom and democracy.

Professional development
In addition to learning our proprietary tools, you will deepen your knowledge of multiple areas of digital forensics, from incident response to e-discovery hardware. You'll join a team of veteran trainers at AccessData, and also collaborate with trainers from major name defense contractors. Success in this assignment could set you up to move into the general training team.

Great environment
We encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across different departments, and you may have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional work groups. We're also proactive about recognizing success and milestones, and we host social events throughout the year, such as summer picnics, impromptu BBQs and other events, holiday parties and more. These are just some of the reasons we have a high number of long-tenured employees.

Award-winning solutions
We know our solutions are great, but it's also affirming to get industry recognition. For example, in October 2016 SC Magazine gave AccessData's FTK (Forensic Tool Kit) a five-star seal of approval for the third year in a row.

Supporting the community
AccessData has a strong sense of corporate responsibility, as you can see in the video. In addition, we encourage employees to do their part. For example, if you're planning to race for the cure, let HR know and we'll see how we may assist with covering registration fees. Want to take time off to participate in charitable events? AccessData will cover up to 2 days paid time off so you can give back to your community.

Excellent compensation
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision and prescription drug plans; flexible spending accounts; health savings account with employer contributions; 401(k) and Roth plans with discretionary match; paid time off; a wellness program; tuition reimbursement and more.

Video: An innovative program launched by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations division and the National Association to Protect Children (PROTECT) is training wounded vets to become forensic examiners. The Human Exploitation Rescue Operative (HERO) Child Rescue Corps program trains vets to fight child sexual exploitation. AccessData provides free licenses to our Forensic Tool Kit (FTK) for training and into the first year of an investigator's work.

Keys to Success

As a cybersecurity professional you're no stranger to structure. As you might imagine, however, DCITA has strict policies and SOPs in place and you'll need to be diligent in following them.

At the same time, we'll look to you to combine creativity with an analytical mindset as you develop new curriculum and supporting materials. The subject matter is serious, but your classroom presentation style should be engaging -- upbeat energy and a sense of humor are definite assets.

In addition, in order to be an outstanding Senior Cyber Training Instructor, you will:
  • Take a proactive approach to getting up to speed quickly with our products and curricula, and to staying current on emerging topics.
  • Present materials in ways that highlight the direct practical value to learners.
  • Pay close attention to details but also grasp the bigger picture.
  • Achieve goals independently but also contribute effective as a team player.
  • Bring a strong sense of ownership and accountability, and hold yourself to high standards in all aspects of your work.
